Many stores do price adjustments, the times vary from 7-30 days. What this means is that you purchase an item and then (within the allowed time period) that item goes on sale. You then take back your receipt and the sales ad to get a refund on the difference in price.
I’ve done this many times at Target, Toys R Us and Kohl’s. This is a great way to save even if you’ve already given the gift away. All you need is a receipt and a sales ad.
Pay careful attention to the Toys R Us ad, many toys are 50% off the day after Christmas. Grab your receipt and visit Customer Service for your price adjustment.
Call the stores you are interested in and find out their price adjustment policy. You do not need to take in the actual item, just a receipt and a sales ad.
